Michelle Webre Pickens
Michelle is a CPA with over 30 years of federal law enforcement experience with the FBI and IRS. In the last five years of her career Michelle was an instructor at the FBI Academy in Quantico where she trained new agents about interview and interrogation techniques, how to conduct thorough FBI investigations, and how to professionally draft an FBI FD-302.
Michelle is a retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent, managing Public Corruption/Civil Rights/White Collar Crime squads for over seven years. Prior to transferring to the FBI, Michelle was a Special Agent with the Internal Revenue Service for four years, investigating tax violations and money laundering. Michelle holds an MBA, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and is certified in Public Accounting (CPA).
Kara Smith
Kara is an attorney with 26 years of federal government experience in coordinating investigations, trial preparation, legal analysis, FBI policy compliance, Privacy Act related matters, and security clearance file reviews. Kara has over a decade of experience as an FBI Associate Division Counsel providing legal counsel to executive management and investigative guidance to agents in the field. Kara returned post-retirement as an RSP adjudicating FBI employees’ security clearances determining eligibility for continued access to classified national security information in accordance with Security Executive Agent Directive (SEAD) 4 guidelines. Kara has handled adjudications including revocations, reconsiderations, and multiple DOJ Access Review Committee (ARC) appeal files.
Kara is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and New Hampshire in state and federal courts and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
